It’s that time of year where there are kids’ Christmas programs to attend, Christmas parties, decorating the tree, the visit to see Santa, and so much more! As a mom, I want to capture these moments. Since I always have my phone with me, the quickest and easiest way for me to snap pictures of everything going on this time of year is with my cell phone.

Not only are there a lot of events to attend where I want to take pictures, there are car rides and long lines. My girls aren’t so patient with the long lines. We bring their tablets along with us to help ease the frustration, whining, and complaining the long lines bring out in my kids. (Or waiting out a tornado warning and bad weather like the picture below.)

With all the picture taking, and the amount of time my girls are on their tablets keeping them entertained in the lines, I always have to make sure the girls’ tablets and my phone are charged. Until recently, I could only charge one tablet at a time because of the plugs; which means that I have to remember to switch out the tablets or they both are not charged when we need them. In my house, if only one of my girls’ tablets is working, my girls think it’s the end of the world and fuss and fight over it (they are good at sharing other things, just not their tablets since they cannot agree on a show to watch together or a game to play together). In other words, it’s crucial that their tablets are charged.

Let’s face it, as a mom, my life is crazy busy, and I don’t always have “change out the tablets” on my radar. Anything I can do that gets the job done quicker and more efficiently, I’m all for. Some call it lazy parenting, I call “mom hack” because these little secrets to getting things done quicker frees up more of my time to look for lost socks, cook meals my kids refuse to eat, and sit in car line.

A couple of weeks ago, I received an Anker PowerPort 2 with Quick Charge 3.0 Dual USB Wall Charger. Let me tell you, that thing is a GAME CHANGER in my house! Have you ever gotten an item that totally changes your life and you wonder what you ever did BEFORE you got that item? Yeah, that’s the Anker PowerPort 2 with Quick Charge 3.0 Dual USB Wall Charger for me (well, and my van).

I love being able to charge both of my girls’ tablets at the same time! #ankerlove #ad

This charger came with a plug to “quick charge” compatible devices to 80% in just 35 minutes! (It will not quick charge an iPhone or iPad.) I’m able to charge both of my girls’ Kindle Fires at the same time, and it doesn’t get hot.  The plug is foldable, which makes it easy to pack when traveling. If you are traveling overseas, it has international voltage capability as well; which means, you would only need one converter and this Quick Charge Dual USB Wall Charger to charge your phone and tablet at the same time. (I didn’t realize how huge that would be until I traveled to Europe in October, and needed a converter!)

If you don’t have one of these, be sure to grab one while you’re doing your holiday shopping. They can be found online at Walmart.com. Whether you have multiple tablets or phones to charge in your house, it will make your life a lot easier! This is by far, one of the best mom hacks because it keeps my kids happy, me happy, and frees up some of my time.
