Halloween is a fun time of year. I mean, what other time of year can you get away with dressing up as someone else, have an excuse to eat chocolate, and make silly faces on pumpkins? In my house, Halloween signals the end of the year is near; my family knows that after Halloween the holidays quickly approach, which brings a busyness to our life. Halloween is that last time to get together with friends for the rest of the year since the holidays are centered around family in my house. That’s why Halloween is the PERFECT time to throw a party with your friends!
Now before you freak out thinking of the cost to throw a Halloween Party, know that it is possible to host a party without scaring your budget. After all, the holidays are coming up and you don’t want to sink a lot of money into a party when you have gifts to buy. If you’re wanting to host a Halloween Party, but don’t want to scare your budget, check out these tips.
4 Ways to Host a Spooktacular Halloween Party Without Scaring Your Budget:
1. Assign People to Bring Items.
A surefire way to bust your budget on a Halloween Party is to provide everything. Just because you are hosting a party, doesn’t mean you have to provide every.single.thing. When you send out the invitations, ask people to bring some of the less expensive items like candy, drinks, ice, etc. Even though you will be assigning some of the less expensive items, those items can quickly add up if you’re buying enough for twenty people.
2. Keep the Decorations Simple.
Sure you want decorations at your party, but you don’t have to go overboard on the decorations. Keep it simple by making your own decorations (like this scrappy banner), using colored table cloths or napkins to add color, or making themed food.
3. Skip the Jack O’Laterns and Pumpkins.
I totally get that pumpkins are an iconic symbol of fall/Halloween and make great decorations; however, they can be pretty expensive. If you must purchase a pumpkin to carve, hit up the grocery store instead of the pumpkin patch. In my area, it seems that pumpkin patches charge a lot more for pumpkins than what you can find at the grocery store, unless a pumpkin is included with admission. We only have pumpkins because Landrye (my youngest) got free pumpkins on her field trip to a pumpkin patch!
4. Use Tyson Foods.
Yes, you read that right-use Tyson foods at your Halloween party! Tyson chicken comes in big bags that are priced right for any budget, and are delicious! I love how simply Tyson foods are to prepare! I was able to pop the Tyson Chicken Fries, Tyson Honey BBQ Boneless Wings Any’tizers, and State Fair Mini Corn Dogs in the oven while my husband grilled the Ball Park Hot Dogs on the grill. While I was waiting for the food to cook, I was able to set out cupcakes, chips, and ketchup. By the time the food was done, everything was set up! I just had to put the food on the table. Not only are Tyson foods budget friendly, but they are delicious and easy to fix. You don’t have to stand over a stove cooking. Talk about a win/win!
