Finding Dory is finally in theaters, and once your kids see the movie, I’m sure they will want anything and everything Dory. There are so many cute Dory toys out there (some cheap like these and some pretty expensive). Instead of purchasing something, you can save your money (and K-Cups) and make this adorable “Dory”.
Materials Needed:
- Two Empty (clean) K-Cups
- Blue Spray Paint
- Yellow Craft Foam
- Black Electrical Tape OR Large Black Sharpie Marker
- Googly Eyes
- Low Temp Hot Glue Gun
- Small Craft Scissors (Sewing Scissors)
Directions:
- Spray both K-Cups with the blue spray paint in a well ventilated area, and let it dry. (Once it dries, check to see if you missed any spots and re-spray if needed. Then let it dry again.)
- Use a low temp hot glue gun to attach both ends of the k-cups and let them set.
- Use the yellow craft foam to cut out three fins for Dory (two on the side of her body and a third one for her back).
- Next, use the Sharpie marker to draw a black line on the edges of Dory’s fins.
- Attach Dory’s two side fins using the glue gun.
- Then, use the small craft scissors to make a cut in the bottom of Dory, and insert her back fin into the slot.
- Use the black Sharpie to raw the black lines on Dory’s side. OR you can cut two small strips of black electrical tape and tape to her sides (as shows in the photo).
- Give Dory a googly eye on the side of her head, and draw a mouth using the black Sharpie.
