Some craft projects can seem daunting and for busy moms who only have a little time to themselves, a full-blown craft project may just not be in the cards. Here is a beautiful home decorating craft that you can do during your children’s nap time that looks like a million bucks! Even better it does not cost much to make so that you can maintain your frugal lifestyle. Once you have made this bunting, you can also use the same techniques to create your own designs too. With a little fabric, imagination and perhaps some free machine embroidery designs, you can create some pretty stylish and unique bunting designs. If you ever have guests over, they will be totally wowed by your nifty crafts! Happy Spring!
Supplies:
- Scrapbook Paper
- Scissors
- Transparent Tape
- Glue Gun or Glue Dots
- Pen
- Template Outline of Bunny and Egg
- Craft Paint in Light Spring Color (I used blue)
- Paint Brush
- Chipboard Letters that Spell “Spring”
- Cotton Balls
- Twine
Instructions:
- Paint your chipboard letters that spell out “Spring” and set to the side to dry.
- Trace seven bunnies (approximately 6 inches tall) on your choice of scrapbook paper.
- Trace six eggs onto a plain paper (I used purple) with the height and width accommodating the size of your chipboard letters (approximately 4 inches tall). You can use embellished stickers to decorate your eggs.
- After you’ve traced the bunnies and eggs, cut them out.
- Secure the dry chipboard letters to the eggs using a glue gun or glue dots.
- Attach cotton ball tails on the bunnies using a glue gun, double sided tape, or glue dots.
- Lay out your bunnies and eggs in the order and with the spacing that you want on your finished banner.
- Measure out your twine so that there is extra on each side of the banner for hanging.
- Starting at the first bunny, start attaching the twine to the back of the bunnies and eggs using a piece of tape on each. This will allow you to adjust the pieces after you hang up the banner.
Now you can hang up your banner! How easy was that?? Now, you have a cute Spring/Easter banner. Pin this project here for later.
