Do you ever have broken crayons, and want to use them for a fun repurposing project? If so, you can make play-dough out of them! That’s right-Play-Dough! How fun (and thrifty) is that? Even if you don’t have a lot of broken crayons but have a particular color crayon that you have a lot of, you can use those as well!
Ingredients Needed:
- 1 Tbsp Vegetable Oil
- 4 Red Crayons, cut up
- 1 Cup Water
- 1 1/2 cups Flour
- 3/4 Salt
- 1 Tbsp Cream of Tartar
Directions:
- In a bowl, combine all of your dry ingredients (flour, salt, and cream of tartar).
- Peel the wrapper off of your crayons and cut them up into small pieces.
- In a pan, over medium heat, heat the vegetable oil and add crayons.
- Stir until the crayons are all melted, then add the cup of water, slowly while continuing to stir.
- Slowly add in your dry ingredients while stirring.
- Once all ingredients are added, remove from heat and knead dough until well combined (it will be a little warm).
- Store in an air tight bag or container to prevent it from drying out.
