1. Pack your lunch for work.

You can save quite a bit of money if you buy food at the grocery store and pack your lunch for work. It takes just a few extra minutes in the morning (or evening before) to pack your lunch and the savings will quickly add up! Buying food at restaurants is expensive and adds up quickly. You can save more money by packing your own snacks, instead of buying from the vending machine (sneaky, sneaky)!

2. Lower your bills.

If you take a closer look at your bills, you may be paying much more than is necessary. If you subscribe to a cable company, you can save money by switching to a lower package or cutting the cable out altogether. You can stream shows and movies for much less through companies like Netflix, Hulu, or Amazon.

3. Cut your utility costs.

You can cut your utility cost by conserving. Using less electricity, water, and gas, will add up each month. Switching your light bulbs to LED bulbs will save money on electricity. Buying energy conserving appliances, if you need to replace them, will save you money on your utility bills. Additionally, you can change a few simple things in your laundry routine, which will keep money out of the dryer and in your pocket.

4. Save up for items instead of putting it on credit.

If it is possible, save up for items you need before they no longer work. You will save a lot of money in interest this way. Instead of paying interest to the credit card companies, put the money in a savings account. When you do this, you will be receiving interest instead of paying it (who’s the money boss now? YOU ARE)!

5. Carpool to work.

You can save money by carpooling to work. By carpooling, you saving a lot of money on gas. If you live close to each other, you might as well keep more money in your pockets. If you alternate cars, you save wear-and-tear on your vehicle by only using it half of the time.
