Fall is my favorite time of the year, and I get super excited when “fall weather” finally arrives down here in South Alabama. Fall is the perfect time to spend time outdoors with your family, but without spending a ton of money. (After all, Black Friday is quickly approaching.) Check out these frugal fall activities.

Fall is the perfect time to spend time outdoors with your family, but without spending a ton of money. Here are 5 frugal activities you can do with your family in the fall.

1. Family Walk.

After dinner each night, take a walk with your family. Not only is it great to get exercise together, but it’s also nice to do in the fall months. The air is crisp, which makes it an ideal way to spend time outdoors.

2. Family Crafts.

Another great way to have fun this fall as a family is to do family crafts together. These crafts do not have to be expensive either. Use things you find while on your family walk (think leaves, pine cones, etc.), or peruse Pinterest for some inspiration. You can carve pumpkins, do cute hand print turkey’s, and many other fall crafts. See 29 of the funnest fall craft for kids here.

3. Spend Time Baking.

One of my favorite things to do in the fall is to try out new pumpkin and apple recipes. Nothing says “fall” to me like pumpkin and apple flavored baked goods. If you are not a big baker, pick up some apples and caramel to make caramel apples instead.

4. Have a Bonfire.

Want to spend time as a family this fall? Have a bonfire together. This is a very frugal way to spend time together during the fall months. We like to have bonfires with friends. Everyone brings something, and we all roast hot dogs and make s’mores. It’s always a lot of fun, and fairly cheap.

5. Go to a Corn Maze.

There are always a ton of corn mazes to attend in the fall months, and they usually aren’t too expensive. Make an evening out of it and spend time with the family! Make it more exciting by seeing who can make it through the corn maze first (with older kids), and have a small “prize”.

Having fund during these fall months doesn’t have to be expensive. Take my tips and use them to have some frugal fall family fun! What is your favorite frugal fall activity to do with your family?
