Roses, a box of chocolate, and a night out can be pretty pricey for Valentine’s Day. In my opinion, skip the roses and spend that money on a night out or in for Valentine’s Day. If money is tight, here are some frugal Valentine’s Day Date Ideas that don’t break the bank and that you don’t have to go out to do.

  • Cook Together-Take the kids to the grandparents house to spend the night, and cook a romantic meal in the kitchen together.
  • Movie Night-Watch a romantic movie together and eat take-out. {If you don’t have a sitter, you can always do this after the kids go to bed.} Here’s a list of my top ten Valentine’s Day Movies.
  • Cook for Him-Drop the kids off at the grandparents house, and cook dinner for your spouse. Have it ready when he walks in the door from work with candles lit and music on to create a more romantic atmosphere. Not to mention, for one night you won’t be eating mac and cheese with chicken nuggets. 🙂
  • Wine Tasting-Pick up some cheese, crackers, and strawberries and pour some different types of wines. {This works really well if you are already a wine drinker and have a couple bottles on hand.}
  • Go to bed early-No explanation necessary 😉

      We do too! Especially with all those free Redbox codes that seem to come out every couple of weeks 🙂
