Deliciously spiced and infused with rich caramel flavor this recipe turns traditional hot apple cider on it’s head. Serve to warm little bodies in from the cold with their after-school snack for a special treat, or serve with dessert and coffee after your Thanksgiving meal- this recipe easily doubles, triples or more to serve a thirsty crowd.
- 12 caramels unwrapped
- 4 cups apple cider
- 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 tsp. apple pie spice
- Place unwrapped caramels, apple cider, lemon juice, apple pie spice, vanilla and cinnamon stick in a pan over low heat.
- Simmer for 20 minutes before serving.
- If desired top with whipped cream and drizzle of caramel sauce.
