30 days to change

This is part of a 30 day series -30 Days to Change. I am giving you practical tips over the course of 30 days to have more change/cash by Christmas. If you missed a post, you can catch up here. If you have any tips or ideas for this series, or would like to submit a guest post for this series, please contact me.

Amazon offers a fantastic program where you can trade in your items for Amazon gift cards! If you already sold your old gadgets lying around your house, but you still have items you want to get rid of, you should use the Amazon Trade In Program. Currently, there are over a million eligible items Amazon accepts regardless if you bought it on Amazon or not.

How does the Amazon Trade In Program work?

You go here. Then use the search bar to search for the items you would like to trade in (there are over a million eligible items). This will give you a price Amazon is offering for the item you have. If you want to trade it in, you click “Trade In”. It will bring you to the next screen where you choose which condition your item is. Then you will print a shipping label, and ship the item. You must ship the item within 7 business days of printing the shipping label. Amazon pays for the shipping, so you just need to put it in your mail box or drop it off at the post office.

How long will it take for me to be paid?

According to Amazon, it can take up to 10 business days to receive your item. Once the item is processed and it is found to be in the condition you listed it in, you will receive an email within two business days letting you know your Amazon gift card is in your account. It can take up to around twelve business days.

I would rather have cash for my items instead of a gift card. Is that option available?

Currently, The Amazon Trade In Program, an Amazon gift card as a way of payment is the only option. If you would rather have cash, you can list your items here. Keep in mind that if you do sell your items on Amazon for an Amazon gift card, you can purchase just about anything from Amazon. You can even order toilet paper, paper towels, diapers, wipes, pasta, clothes, shoes, and almost everything else!
